IDENTIFICATION

Head Pores - Cephalic head canal with pores B',C(S),D(S), E,F,G,H' and K',L'. Preopercle canal with pores M',N,O'.

Scales - Scl=ales in lateral series 33-34; nape and cheek without scales.

Fins - D1 - VI; D2 - I+12; anal I+11

Head - Anterior nostril with a triangular lappet.

Papillae - A transverse pattern with suborbital rows short; row d continuous; row 5i at anterior end of row b; row 6i short, the dorsal end well below row b.

Color - Life color not known. No dark blotch in upper anterior corner of dorsal fins.

Distribution - eastern Atlantic and Mediterannean

Habitat - Reported from inshore areas in the Mediterannean and deepe water off Portugal (320-385m)
