Psilotris Ginsburg, 1953:22; type species Psilotris alepis, by original designation and monotypy

The genus is distinguished by absence of lateral line pores on the head; absence of scales on the body, including no basicaudal scales; and seperate pelvic fins.

Species inhabit coral reef and rock habitats. Most are very rare.
