IDENTIFICATION

Head Pores -

Scales - cycloid, extending to past D1 origin

 

Fins - D1 - VII, no elongate filaments; D2 - 18-19; pectoral - 21; anal 19-20; pelvic I,5 fins joined, no frenum

Head - Eye large; tonuge rounded; interorbital narrow; mouth at 60 deg angle to horizontal;

Papillae - transvers pattern similar to Microgobius

Color - in alcohol: cream colored lacking any pigment patterns; specimen was preserved for 25 years

Distribution - Known only from type locality of Cozumel, Mexico

Habitat - 253-275 meters, collected in dredge
